The registration for 2017 summer school credit recovery and SOL remediation is now available in the counseling office and in the attached file.
The FBI Richmond Youth Academy is a two-day program, designed to provide students with an overview of the FBI's mission and operations through a series of presentations and exercises. This program is open to current juniors and seniors. Program dates are July 17-18, 2017 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the FBI Richmond Field Office. Application deadline is May 31, 2017. Applications are available in the counseling office or visit https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/richmond and click on "Community Outreach" to learn more.
The annual Senior Awards Night is Monday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the MCHS auditorium. Seniors will be recognized for school and community achievement and awarded scholarships. The public is invited.
Spring SOL testing for Reading, Math, History and Science will be May 9 - 15.
Virginia Placement Testing for 2017-18 dual enrollment courses will be April 18 - 20.Advanced Placement Testing for 2016-2017 courses will be May 1-5 and May 8 - 12.

Attention Juniors: Applications are now available in the counseling office for the 2017 Boys State, Girls State and Virginia Youth Cadet Law Enforcement programs. These programs are sponsored by the Madison American Legion Post 157. Applications are due April 24th.Boys State June 18-24 at Radford University

Summer School and SOL Remediation will be held at Waverly Yowell Elementary School. Summer School will be held on Monday-Thursday, 8am-1pm and will begin on June 12th and will end on June 29th. SOL Remediation will be held Monday-Thursday, 8am-1pm and will begin on June 12th and will end on June 22nd. Transportation will be provided. The Summer School 2017 Flyer is attached. Attention 10th and 11th graders! Opportunities are available in agriculture, humanities, mathematics, science, and technology in the month-long 2017 Summer Residential Governor’s Schools. The SRGS academic and mentorship programs provide intellectually challenging and enriching experiences within a community of mutual support, respect, and dedication for a limited number of academically/intellectually gifted, current year tenth- and eleventh-grade high school students. Information for parents and students, as well as a link to the application for the residential program, is available on the VDOE website (click here). Students interested in applying must complete the application, and submit a paper copy to Mrs. Johnston no later than February 10th. Keep in mind, students may attend one Governor’s Summer Residential Program during their high school career. Please contact Mrs. Shannon Johnston with any questions.
